The ultrasound image above shows a simple renal cyst. Simple cysts are anechoic (black) and have thin, sharply marginated walls. In addition they have no internal echoes and produce posterior enhancement. Simple cysts rarely develop into cancer. Double click on the (X) to review the video (6 seconds).
